There’s a principle involved.

I’ve begun compiling the principles that inform my work life. They have proven true thus far, but nothing is set in stone. They are subject to change as I keep learning along the way.
If you resonate with them, we would probably work well together.
1. The music comes first.
2. Trust your gut feeling.
3. Leave the ego at the door.
4. Emotion beats perfection. Performance beats programmation.
5. Every record is different. Let it guide you.
6. Look to simplify before adding.
7. The record is the record. The stage is the stage.
8. Never listen to the demo if you cannot start working on it right away.
9. Ask the dumb question. Everyone will be grateful.
10. It doesn’t matter who came up with the best idea. It matters that you pick the best idea.
11. Always discuss splits before sitting down to create.
12. The simplest option tends to be the best.
13. No one cares how we got here. The only thing that matters is what comes out of the speakers.
14. Don’t overcomplicate setups. Technology should be forgotten as soon as we hit record.
15. Less is more, but more is more. It’s the middle you want to avoid.
